In an Update I sent out yesterday I encouraged people to be on the lookout for testimonies from what I believed we would be experiencing during the next series of events from the road. Well, this morning I spoke at the first of these events and already, the first two of these testimonies have come in via a hand-written note from a student and an e-mail we received this afternoon from a chapel coordinator. I wanted to share some of what we have received with you.
The hand-written note came from a middle school student who walked over to where I was after I spoke; he shook my hand and told me what he then wrote in his note to me:
"I have tried killing myself three times and you (Dean) made me realize I was wrong."
Somehow this morning, God used my message to penetrate the heart of another teenager with the truth that life is better than death. For this student, he caught the revelation that suicide was a wrong choice and his discovering that his life has value became such a fun moment to experience with this young man.
Next, below is a copy of the e-mail we received from today's chapel coordinator -
"To Whom It May Concern:
I am privileged to write in support of motivational speaker Dean Sikes. We were so blessed with his encouraging word to the faculty, staff and students here at TCPS that we would love to have him back on an annual rotation Chapel schedule.
We truly felt the Spirit of God today and prayers were answered for spiritual renewal. One middle-school student wrote a note to Dean after chapel saying that he had attempted to take his life three times before but now has seen the error of his ways. This student is now on the path of life and to God be the glory!
Dean was captivating even without any other presentation aids. His questions about life and eternity strikes home to both student and teacher alike.
We are so thankful to have Dean speak in chapel today and extend our invitation to him again and again. May God bless him as he continues to speak Gods Word all over the world.
For Gods glory,
Pete Cuison
Bible Teacher/Chapel Coordinator
In addition to getting to go to this school and not charge the school nor the students any fee, we also were able to invest into every student a copy of my new book, You Matter ... It's a Great Day to be Alive.
For those of you who partner with us, thanks for helping make days like today a reality. Many students were impacted today.
Next stop on the road is Douglas, Georgia.
Thanks for believing; God bless you.
